Revisão Sistemática sobre a Influência dos Executivos no Desempenho das Empresas na Perspectiva da Teoria do Alto Escalão

Abstract

O objetivo, neste artigo, foi apresentar as frentes e agenda futura da pesquisa sobre a influência dos executivos no desempenho das empresas na perspectiva da Teoria do Alto Escalão. Para atingir este objetivo, realizamos uma revisão sistemática de 59 artigos, procedentes de um estudo bibliométrico de pareamento.Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que, a partir do trabalho seminal de Hambrick e Mason (1984), os estudos atuais, além de considerarem as características demográficas do CEO (Chief Executive Officer), têm dado ênfase à influência da diversidade do TMT (Top Management Team) sobre os conflitos entre executivos e conselheiros, aos efeitos do comportamento e relações sociais e a análises semelhantes em outros níveis organizacionais. A partir destas análises, é proposta uma agenda de pesquisa.
